Instagram Dark Mode is Now Available for Android 10, iOS 13

The wait is over! Instagram has finally brought the dark mode for Android 10 and iOS 13. You can activate it with the latest Instagram app.

Dark mode has been in the conversation for a while. Previously it was available to testing in the alpha and beta builds of the app. But now Instagram has released the stable version in the latest Instagram app.

Instagram keeps on coming up with the new exciting features. Recently, Instagram threw the features like Threads from Instagram Messaging app and also Instagram is removing the creepy stalking feature.

Among these updates, Instagram has come up with the dark mode as well. You can take advantage of dark Instagram on iOS 13 and Android 10. Instagram’s chief Adam Mosseri also tweeted the news about the release on Monday.

If we talk about appearance, Dark mode brings the darker shade to the basic light background. It looks so soothing while browsing. But the major benefit of using dark mode is to save battery on phones and reduce eye-strains.

How to activate Instagram dark mode?

In order to enable the dark mode, you will have to update or download the latest Instagram app from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

After switching to the new app, you can switch to the dark theme as well. Change your device theme from light to the dark.

After this, you will find your Instagram app in the dark mode which looks quite amazing.

However, there is no directly toggle to quickly turn on/off the dark mode. Every time you will have to switch the themes in order to enable or disable the dark mode.

Anyway, the dark mode look is pretty cool to see. It is good to browse a new dark Instagram page. It shows the jet black in the background with white text outlined. Everything you will see black and white except the Instagram story icon. The story icon has the prominent colours of the Instagram logo, e.g., red, pink, orange. Notifications are in the same red colour as it was before.
